Broken Beauties
Around the time I experienced my 5th fracture, I was bored with the regular orthopedic gear and slings that the early nineties had to offer. Luckily, I had a crafty mom who managed to spend the next couple of years keeping me outfitted in custom made slings/braces. The highlight of a fracture (if there ever was a highlight) was heading to the local fabric store with my mom to pick out the fabric, chords and buttons for our latest creation. My classmates were amused by my ever changing slings; I actually think these designer pieces might have made them envious of my broken limbs. My mom still makes slings/braces for friends as gifts; this simple gesture can bring a beautiful smile to an otherwise painful situation.
I went on a search recently to see if anyone was creating designer slings/braces, imagine my surprise when I came across Broken Beauties. Broken Beauties has some of the most amazing products I’ve seen in quite some time. They have everything from walkers, slings, utensils, canes, waterproof casts braces and heating pads! Every piece is stylish and moderately priced. The Broken Beauties website is divided into three sections, Fashion, Comfort and Mobility, and Healing. If you haven’t visited their site, you need to.
The best part of finding Broken Beauties , is that we’ve developed a partnership that is going to benefit my readers and the OI Community! Stay tuned for more details.

This is a WAY cool find! Thanks for sharing. I was always so disgusted with the plainness in the slings that hospitals gave out.
I know right! I mean if you have to wear a cast or brace you should be able to have a little fun with it!
