What is the Unbreakable Journey?
The Unbreakable Journey is a website devoted to those who live everyday with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) and to those who wish to learn more about this disease. It is our hope that this blog will become a resource for individuals with (OI), a place of inspiration, acknowledgment and hope.

Why the Unbreakable Journey?
I (Amanda) have lived with Osteogenisis Imperfecta my entire life. I’ve suffered 24 fractures during the course of my life and I’m sure there will be more. For those of you who are interested, I’m Type 1. I recently began my journey towards better understanding the disease I was born with, the OI community and care options available to us. My knowledge base is limited but is expanding.
I’ve long wanted to operate a blog for Osteogenisis Imperfecta and have finally reached a point in my life where I’m ready and have been blessed with the resources to begin the journey. Unbreakable Journey was originally going to simply be a blog about my life with OI. But, I believe there is a need and a niche for a blog about the entire OI community. I’m very interested in meeting other members of the OI community. If you live in Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia or DC I’d love to set up a time for us to meet for lunch or dinner. (And of course, spotlight you on the blog.)

About Amanda

Amanda is the founder of Unbreakable Journey. She lives in Richmond, VA with her husband and dog Clark. Amanda was diagnosed with Type 1 Osteogenesis Imperfecta at the age of two. She has suffered numerous fractures during her lifetime. She has never let OI hold her back from living a fulfilling life.
